One week ago today, Friday, August 24, 2018, I was on a spontaneous date night with my wife. When we do have some time alone, together, we often talk about our dreams and what we are doing to achieve them. We encourage one another, we are gentle when needed and we ask tough questions when it is right.
This past week she encouraged me to read “You are a Badass at Making Money“, by Jen Sincero. She also encouraged me to take a big risk. To do something I normally wouldn’t do.
I’ve read a number of self-help books in recent months and haven’t made much movement on my dreams. I have thought about pursuing more work in corporate structures to accelerate my earnings. In another post I’ll unpack more of my history there. Suffice it to say, this time I was thwarted. I thought the right things, I made the right connections, I followed the right steps, and it didn’t work out. And that was liberating. I knew I was headed down a path that was not mine to walk.
Then we had this date night. And my wife pushed gently. And asked big questions.
And now I’m pursuing something I have always believe to be out of reach.
I do not believe that any longer.
